What is the American Dream? How do you define it? How do you reach it?

First, we need to ask why do people even care about a person’s race, religion, how much money they may or may not earn, what they own, who they are with and so on? This is not what the real American Dream is all about. When I meet a successful person, I do not hate him. I ask how he or she became successful.

Since I was a kid, I have asked people about their success story. When you ask, you will learn just how many people have lost everything they have owned one to two times before the age of 40. You will learn that they once had high debt and a poor credit rating. You will learn that they had worked 60+ hours a week for many years before they were 50 years old. Success has many forms and levels. A successful person can be a nurse, truck driver, electrician, chef, artist or a parent who stays at home and raises a great family.  It’s not all about money. It is being able to provide for your family, being free and happy.

When you hate other people, it reduces your opportunity to reach happiness and success. Ever notice how many people that promote hate are  also having  financial problems and are unhappy with their own lives? Ever notice how many negative people must surround themselves with other people who hate and are unhappy?  It is true.

There will always be people who are unhappy or have extreme jealousy of another person. In many cases, no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to change them. Our society and even schools are endorsing to hate other people based on what another person earns or owns. This is a path towards American disaster as others focus on jealousy vs true success. They must learn to change themselves.

Surround yourself with people who are successful and have a positive mental attitude. Speak out against hate. Speak out, no matter what others may think,  take the lead of what is right vs wrong in your community. There are too many people who have reduced their own American Freedoms and personal happiness based on their fear of what others may think of them. Sometimes, it is not doing what is popular, but is about doing what is right.

Our Free American Republic  is about free trade, saving, investing, honesty, integrity, and equal opportunity. When your success grows, then give back to your local community in either time and/or money. You have the American right to work hard, pay your taxes, take business and investment risks, and be financially independent of the government. That is not evil or greedy as some may believe. It is the American Dream to achieve.

Take care of people when you can. People will make or break a business. When a business succeeds, then take all of your staff with you for the journey of success, and you will not fail. When they succeed, you will automatically succeed. With that said, stand by these rules and make sure others around you follow them in life.

When your neighbor falls down, give him your hand and help him back up. Too many people have forgotten what it takes to reach success. We do not need a larger, more expensive government.

Judge a person on what is in the inside, not the outside. We should not divide our great country by race, sex, religion or income as some people are trying to do. We just need more people to follow these rule of life. Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to reach the American Dream.
