Americans For Freedom Founder: J. Michael Pinson


J. Michael Pinson is the founder of AmericansForFreedom.org, a national coalition of grass roots organizations headquartered in Clearwater.
 
His vision of Americans for Freedom also known as AFF, is to be a conduit that helps network individuals and grass root organizations such as Tea Parties, Veterans, etc.

Members of AFF have a platform where individuals and other organizations can post and share their, articles, videos, thoughts, social media and events through a central internet “HUB”. The goal being effectively networking over 4,000 grass Roots organizations using patent pending internet technology. Americans for Freedom has the largest organized political, economic, grass roots and constitutional research library online today offering both videos and articles. AFF Members continue to add research every day on numerous topics and key issues.
 
Mr. Pinson is also the founder and Chairman of the Board of Pinson Communications, Inc., a holding company of several divisions including DataAmerica.com.  Pinson Communications offers business print management, book distribution services, IT products & services as well as office supplies.  His company just announced manufacturing printer toners “Data America Toners Made in the USA”.

He is also the founder and CEO of the Pinson Foundation. The foundation not only supports charities in the Tampa Bay area, but also special causes. In January 2010, the foundation flew an eleven person surgical team to Haiti immediately after the earthquake.

He is a native of Florida, growing up in St Petersburg where he attended primary and high school. He went on to attended Trenton State College in New Jersey where he studied Business Management.
 
In 1983, he became a Registered Investment Advisor. After moving back to Florida, he started his own asset management company Pinson & Associates, P.A in 1986.  He appeared at various speaking engagements at Investment Forums such as “The Money Show” along with some of the country’s top investment managers. During that time Michael has been a guest numerous times on NBC, CNBC and CNN, quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron and Business Week as an asset manager.  In 1994, he was second in the nation for the Wall Street Journal’s Pick of the Pros Contest.  In 1997 re retired as a portfolio manager and he used his expertise in business management and problem solving to open Pinson Communications that currently employs over 30 employees.
 
He served in the US Military and is a veteran of the Gulf War. He also served on the Congressional Advisory Committee of Congressman Gus Bilirakis where he was recommended to be on President Obama’s bipartisan Deficit Reduction Commission. He also served on the Military Review Board for West Point and the Air Force Accademy for US Senator Mel Martine

In September 1990, Mr. Pinson was recalled to active military duty for the Persian Gulf War. The Florida native served his country as a Military Police officer and Team Leader which include area security and anti-terrorism.  In 1991 he received a commendation for "outstanding performance" from the U.S. Army and the United States Customs Service for preventing illegal weapons, including assault rifles and ammunition from being smuggled into the United States.
